History Center Re-Opening
The Oldham County History Center’s winter break will end on January 15th, and the History Center will re-open for business, research, and programs that day at 10 AM.
Day of the Dead Altar Building
The public is invited to build an altar in memory of a departed love one in honor of the annual Day of the Dead Celebration at the Oldham County History Center. Altars will be set up in the Rob Morris Chapel on the History Center campus, Oct. 17th-19th, 2024 from 10 am until 4 pm on the 17th & 18th and from 10 am until 2 pm on the 19th. All participants must register in advance on Eventbrite.

There is no charge to build an altar. Participants must supply the following for their altars:
4×4 type of card table, photographs of deceased, any decorations
No perishable food or plants (only plastic/paper)
Candles must be battery powered.
The Altars will be on public display from Oct. 26 through Nov. 2 (Day of the Dead). All altars must be removed the following week.
