V-MAIL DATED 5-9-44
Dear Mom,
Just a few lines tonight to say hello and tell you I’m doing fine. I’m back in England now & doing allright. (as usual)
I have been catching up on my sleep most of the day so guess I won’t have any trouble being sleepy tonight.
I have a permanent address now so my mail should come to me lots sooner now. Here’s hoping it does anyway.
Mom I was all set to vote for my first time this year and Ky was one of the states that didn’t let soldiers vote. Ha! Ha! Guess I’ll have to wait till I get to be twenty two before I can voice my opinion. Has my Big Sister ever voted for anyone? I bet she hasn’t. How is she making out in college now? I guess you & Pop are doing allright on the farm this summer. (Hope you are anyway.)
Mom have you been getting the allotment check every month. Did you get that bond for Lee yet? Send it to me soon as you get it. I’m out of space again so will close and hope I hear from you real soon. Tell Sis and pop hello.
Love
Toots
