V-MAIL DATED 5-29-44
Dear Mary E. –
Hope this will find you doing super and having fun. If you’re half as happy as you are sweet I’m sure you’re doing super. I’m still in England and I’m doing fine. I recd. a letter from you and mom today dated May 18th & 17th. Yes I was in Belfast on a visit. Do you still have your dog? I’ll bet you and Mary Bruce lost your shirt on the races. Oh – I forgot you don’t wear a shirt do you? Is Arch still at home on furlough? I’ll bet you two really painted the town while he was there. Was he wounded very much? He must have been to receive the Purple Heart. Personally I wouldn’t want it. I got a letter from my boss today (Miss Lee Brinkhoff) and she’s worried more about me than my mom is. Golly – isn’t love grand? You should know by now. Listen Sis – I want you to write her some time. How’d you like the pictures I sent Mom? I bet they were awful weren’t they? I’d like to have a few snapshots of you and the gang. Sara – Mary Bruce – Jane – Edythe and the rest of you dead end kids. Ha! Ha! I’m out of space for now so will close. Answer soon.
your Baby Brudder forever
