V-MAIL DATED 5-29-44
Dear Mom –
I’m off today so if possible I’m going to try and catch up on my correspondence. Hope you, Pop and Sis are still going allright. I’m fine (as usual) I get a little home sick real often but that’s nothing to be alarmed about. I guess a million other guys feel the same way. They haven’t had mail call for today yet. I’ll write you again tonight if I get any mail today. Boy it sure is a pretty spring day here in England. It reminds me of dear old Ky in the springtime. I’ll bet its beautiful there now isn’t it? Is Dad farming this year. Guess he’s really in full swing now. Boy I wish I could be there to help him. Mary E. is probably in college now isn’t she? I guess you’ll have to learn how to drive while she’s away. Have you taken any more driving lessons lately? Ha! I should get a letter from Lee today saying she recd. my picture. All the one’s [sic] I’ve gotten from her so far are pretty old. (Last month’s) Is Judy doing allright? Tell her I think of her real often. I’ll bet she’s getting cuter every day. How old is she now? Tell Pop & Sis hello for me.
your loving son,
Earl Jr.
