V-MAIL DATED 5-14-44
Dearest Mother –
After flying a few hrs. I went to church had supper and now I’m all set to write the most wonderful mother in all the world. I hope this letter will find you happy and in the best of health this beautiful day. I’m swell as usual and every day I’m becoming more & more disgusted with this place and I’m also sure this darn war can’t last much longer. I can hardly wait for the day when we can all be together again. That day will call for quite a celebration again. I didn’t receive any mail as yet so guess I’ll have to wait till you write to my new address before I get any. It must be lost. Tell Pop & Sister hello!
Your Loving Son,
Earl Jr.
