V-MAIL DATED 5-13-44
Dear Mom,
Greetings today. Here it is another Saturday afternoon in England. Sure wish I was at home tonight. I can see now why our Fore Fathers came to America. (They had very good reasons.)
I still have the same classification I had in the States. I’m engineer gunner on an A-20.
I didn’t receive any mail again today. It will soon be two months & no mail. It sure makes me dam mad. I could have walked across and delivered the dam stuff myself by now. I’ve waited this long so guess it’s no use blowing my top now but it sure is disgusting the way these non-combatant punks do things here in the E.T.O.
I hope you have found some film for the camera & Lee’s camera by now. Did you?? How’s Aunt & Uncle Ernest doing these days? I’ll bet they’re busy tonight (as usual) Tell Pop & Sis hello and be good & write soon.
your loving Son,
Earl Jr.
