Dear Mom,
Greetings today – Here it is another beautiful Friday afternoon in England and I’m still doing super swell. Sure hope every one at home is the same. I haven’t recd. any mail for so long I don’t know what to write about any more. I should get some tomorrow from Ireland. (I hope so anyway.)
I hope you recd. the cablegram for Mothers Day I sent you. Guess it will be long past Mothers Day when you receive this letter but every day is Mothers Day for me. You are always in my thoughts and my heart mother dear.
Has my big brother (C.K.) received any more notices from his draft board. I hope he won’t have to go unless it’s absolutely impossible for him to avoid it. He wouldn’t like it I’m sure.
Guess my big sister is out of school by now & home keeping you busy again isn’t she? Tell her to write me sometime. Did she ever write Genevieve a letter. (She should.) That gives me an idea – I think I’ll drop her a few lines tonight while I’m in the letter writing mood. I don’t get in that mood very often. Nothing ever happens to me that I could tell about & get it by the censor so I just scribble along. (as usual)
Well mom here’s hoping you Pop & Sis are allright. I’ll close for now.
Your loving Son, Jr.
