Dear Sis,
I recd. your letter today & was very glad to hear from you again. I also recd. the money order and the check & it came in rather handy. I haven’t gotten the watch as yet. I will probably get it tomorrow sometime. I sure hope it gets fixed allright because I miss it lots.
I have been seeing a lot of very nice things here in N.Y. but I guess my sight seeing days are over for a few months starting pretty soon. I’m very happy that I’m able to go over & help defend the good old U.S.A. though so you hold the Fort down till I return again soon. (I hope)
Say—It seems as if you & I are going to be & old maid & a bachelor. Every one else is married around home but you & I (ha, ha.)
I wish I could have attended the tournament with you & the old gang. I’ll bet you had fun didn’t you? (as usual) I’ll be there next year to enjoy them again. (I hope) I’m going to buy me a new car when I come back so I can do the town when I get a furlough.
I sent Judith Ann a box of candy for Easter. I sure hope she likes it. I didnt know what to send so thats what it was.
I had some more pictures made today & told them to send them to you if I wasnt here when they were finished & I want you to mail a good one to Lee when you get them & tell her I said to mail it.to [sic] her. She doesn’t have a one of me. I sure hope they are good. (But I doubt it.)
I’LL have this mailed in town tomorrow night if I’m not here. They really are strict on what we say here. All we can say when they censor them is hello & goodby. (DAM-IT.)
I’ll send you the $25 soon as I get paid. I will have lots to send home when I get over there. I will make S/Sgt. when I get there. I was supposed to make it in sava nah, GA. but got gypped out of it. I’ll make $98 base pay as S/Sgt. and my flying pay which will be $49 and 20% overseas pay added to that. I’ll be making more than a dam 4F wont I.
Well I’ve flattered my brain by writing this much so I’ll ring off for now hoping to hear from you & all the folks real soon. Be Sweet & Best of luck to you Always. Take care of Mom & pop for me. & watch out for the Wolves. I will write again soon.
Your Loving Brother,
Toodle
P.S. Did you get the gum yet?
