Dear Folks –
After a most enjoyable train ride I have reached my destination and like it fine here. I don’t know how long I’ll stay here but I’m going to have lots of fun in New York while I’m here. We are in Fort Hamilton which is a place in Brooklyn. The people here really treat us swell. There aren’t very many Air Corps men here and when they see our wings they really think we are hot stuff.
I’m going to mail this in town so don’t repeat any of the things I’ve said in this to anyone or say anything about Fort Hamilton or other things like that because they really censor that stuff here in camp. They would mark out most of this if they knew I was writing you this.
I’m still unsure as to where I’m going but suspect its —.
If my watch is fixed yet you can mail it to me if you think it will be here by the end of March otherwise don’t send it because I’d probably never get it.
You can’t imagine what a big city N. York is until you’ve seen it. We get off from 3 in the afternoon till 6 the next morning and we really can have a time in town. We get lost every time we turn around here.
They gave us a bunch of new clothes so guess I’ve got about everything I need now. I couldn’t get one of those jackets for C.K. as yet.
I’ll try and send sis some chewing gum if I can get it off the base here. They won’t let us mail any packages from the camp.
It’s almost dinner time so I’ll close for now & write more tomorrow. Don’t say anything about where I am in your letters to me.
Love

P.S. Don’t worry about me. I’m happy
