Dear Folks –
I spent a rather enjoyable night looking the town over so slept most of the morning and have only been up a few minutes. I’m really catching up on my sleep while I’m here because there is nothing to do here but eat and sleep. We don’t have to fly anymore till we’re ready for to go overseas. And from looks of things I’ll be going over on a boat anyway. I’d lots rather go by plane though.
They just called a group of gunners out & gave them all furloughs till the 3rd of March and we I may get one but I won’t know till in the morning or late this afternoon sometime. I sure hope my section gets one before we go P.O.E. Oh well I won’t gripe if we don’t because the war won’t last forever.
I got my call through to you after waiting several hrs. but it seemed as if we got a bad connection. I could hardly hear you & I doubt if you could understand me very well but it was really swell to get to talk to you for a few moments.
It is really warm here today (as usual). I think I’ll go in town this afternoon and sight see a while.
I recd. a nice letter from Lee today so I’ll close for now & write you again soon. I have to write her a few lines before she disowns me. Be good & tell everyone hello for me.
Love

P.S. Hurry & send that camera.
