Candlelight Cemetery Walk – Floydsburg Cemetery

Wednesday, October 27, 2021. 7pm.

Make plants to take a candlelight cemetery walk of the Floydsburg Cemetery. Floydsburg Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in the region that was created in 1799 by the William Boulware family. In those years, Floydsburg was an important stop on a stage coach route from Frankfort to Louisville. The cemetery includes a beautiful, limestone English style chapel with stained glass windows from artist Henry Lee Willet of Philadelphia. The chapel was dedicated 1937 as a tribute to the Flora Ross Duncan.

This is a candlelight tour and participants will be led by a tour guide to designated sites. The activities will follow COVID Guidelines meaning that people should be vaccinated to participate and wear masks. The admission is $10 per person, paid in advance. There will be no tickets sold at the gate. To pre-register call 502.222.0826. Questions: email: info@oldhamkyhistory.com or call 502.222.0826
